Nana Abena Afriyie Kwarkye Gyang

Nana Abena Afriyie Kwarkye Gyang

Founder & Director

Nana is the founder of Friends of NICU. She started off her career as a banker in 2008 and worked for banks such as Merchant Bank Ghana (now Universal Merchant Bank); she worked in the Operations department and then moved to Barclays Bank (now ABSA Bank) and worked in the Service Excellence Department for almost two years. Prior to joining Scania, she moved into project management and worked for Northshore Ltd in Ghana until her move to Scania, a Swedish-owned automobile company in Ghana, in 2015 She is currently the contracted Services Administrator. Nana holds an MBA in Total Quality Management from the University of Professional Studies Accra. Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and Social Work from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science & Technology. She holds a Public Relations, Advertising & Marketing Diploma from the Ghana Institute of Journalism. She also has a certificate in Human Resources from ICM- UK. She is passionate about advocacy for Premature Babies and NICU facilities to support Premature babies and other babies who end up in the unit. Since 2018 she has dedicated her life to this course.

Samuel Agyei Gyang

Samuel Agyei Gyang

Director

Samuel is currently the Head of Legal at MASLOC. He started his legal practice with Messrs. Zoe, Akyea & Co. in 2010, where he received comprehensive training in courtroom litigation. He handled several corporate and commercial cases in areas such as Contracts, Real Estate, Labour, Debt Recovery, Intellectual Property, etc. He also provided representation in courts for clients in criminal cases, matrimonial causes and related areas such as custody, adoption etc. Despite his training as a litigator, Samuel was instrumental in facilitating Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) processes and negotiated out-of-court settlements for numerous clients in appropriate cases. Before joining MASLOC, Samuel transitioned from private legal practice to the corporate world, where he was appointed Head of Legal at McOttley Holdings Limited in September 2014. At McOttley, he was responsible for delivering in-house legal services to accomplish the corporate goals of the Holdings Company and its subsidiaries operating in the microfinance, investment banking and real estate sectors. Samuel has considerable experience working on commercial transactions and consults widely on company registration, due diligence and compliance. He currently serves as company secretary for Friends of NICU. Samuel holds a qualifying certificate in law from the Ghana School of Law, an LLB (Hons) from the Faculty of Law, University of Ghana, a Bachelor of Arts Degree (Hons) in English with History from the University of Ghana and a Diploma in Public Relations and Advertising from the Ghana Institute of Journalism. He has also undertaken courses and attended training in Alternative Dispute Resolution, Anti-Money Laundering and Combating the Financing of Terrorism (AML/CFT), Corporate Governance, Data Protection etc.

Isaac Quansah

Isaac Quansah

Director

Isaac started his career in the Oil and Gas industry in 2013. As an astute leader with over ten years of demonstrated success in the Oil & Gas industries and Non-Governmental Organizations. His qualifications, experiences, and multi-disciplinary background enable him to bring different perspectives into professional discourse and energize the dynamism in Project and Operations Management. He has had stints with the telecommunication and Hospitality industries and was the Project/Workshop Manager for the EU Archipelago-sponsored Green Economy Ghana Project, through which he is currently the Executive Secretary of the Ghana-Sweden Chamber of Commerce and Private Sector Engagement Consultant of Social Enterprise Ghana. He has always been passionate about children and, before attaining his first degree, was a primary tutor for two years in a private school in Accra. Isaac holds an MBA in Total Quality Management from the University of Professional Studies Accra and a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Cape Coast. He is the founder and President of Ants Investment Club, an investment club he formed during his university days in 2008. He is the author of a book and a certified Peer Counselor of the Planned Parenthood Association of Ghana (PPAG).

Victoria Aning

She started off her career as a Stores/ Inventory Officer in 2008 and worked for Palmers Green International Limited in Ghana . she worked as the Sales & Revenue Department Director in 2018 before being transferred to Trade & Save International Ltd ( sister company to Palmers Green International Ltd) as the director of the company. She is currently working with Luton Engineering Services as the Director for Procurement, Materials and Transport. Victoria holds an MBA in Finance from Coventry University. Bachelor of Arts Degree in Sociology and Social Work from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science & Technology . She also holds a certificate in Human Resources from ICM- UK. She is passionate about the advocacy for Premature Babies and NICU facilities to support Premature babies and other babies who end up in the unit. Since 2018 she has dedicated her life to this course.

Adwoa Kyerema Bediako

Adwoa Kyerema Bediako

Director

She started as a Cashier at Koala in 2008, became the Customer Service Representative in 2009, moved to Administrative Assistance, and left for further studies in 2010. She continued her career in banking in 2015. She worked for The Royal Bank Ghana as Branch Operations Personnel, then in 2016 as a Relationship Officer until 2018, when Consolidated Bank Ghana became where she is currently the Personal Banker. Adwoa holds an MBA in Total Quality Management from the University of Professional Studies Accra. Bachelor of Education Degree in Basic Education from the University of Education, Winneba. She also holds a Marketing, Accounting and Human Resources certificate from ICM- UK. She is passionate about advocacy for Premature Babies and NICU facilities to support Premature babies and other babies who end up in the unit. Since 2018 when her friend told her about her experience, she has dedicated her life to supporting this course and never looked back.

Evelyn Ockling

Evelyn Ockling

Director

Evelyn is an industrious entrepreneur who loves children and is passionate about supporting social interventions. Currently managing a family business, OAKVET Company Limited and Green Oak-designs Limited, she has transformed the two companies into formidable brands. Her personal NICU experience made her fall in love with everything concerning the unit; hence a proud director for Friends of NICU. Evelyn holds an MBA in Strategic Management from Valley View University and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Sociology from the University of Ghana. She also holds a certificate in Professional Project Management from SM Consult Limited, Accra.
